Colours of Unity
In 2023, I had the honor of being invited as a guest by Dr. Claire Goulet to present my poems about the Early Modern European witch-hunt trials to the faculty and students at the Colours of Unity event held at Mount Saint Vincent University. The event provided an opportunity for me to share my work and engage in meaningful discussions about the historical significance and cultural impact of the witch-hunt trials. It was a memorable experience that allowed me to connect with the university community and contribute to the ongoing conversations surrounding this important topic.
Book Project
In 2023, I had the pleasure of participating as both a proofreader and a contributing writer in the creation of the book “[extra] Ordinary - An Anthology of the Mundane” at Mount Saint Vincent University. My article, titled “Language” was selected to be the first article in the book -- primarily due to its engaging linguistic and social linguistic content. Alongside my role as a writer, I took on the responsibility of proofreading approximately eight articles submitted by other participating authors, ensuring the overall quality and coherence of the final publication. This experience provided me with valuable insights into the world of editing and the publishing process.
Witch-Hunt Trials Poems
Those poems were inspired by the European witch-hunt in the Early-Modern times. I have carefully read the trials from different countries and on different languages before selecting the most inspiring ones. My poems were selected by Dr. Clare Goulet to be presented by myself at the Colours of Unity event in 2023 at Mount Saint Vincent.
Translated Marriage Certificate Proofreading
My participation in this document was to review and request corrections for the formatting and grammatical errors present after the sworn translation (done by another professional chosen by the client). The revision also included checking for document completeness, legal names, family names, the style of the original certificate, and the style to be adapted—this involved researching the current format of an Irish marriage certificate, including the arrangement of names, date formatting, punctuation, and other important factors.
With the clients' authorization, this document is hereby displayed.
Translation (PT-EN)
This translation was done in 2022 for Dione Solutions.
The website script was all in Brazilian Portuguese, and I translated it to American English. In addition to the complete translation for the website, I also helped with the pronunciation for the audio narration of the website according to the client's preferences for more accurate results. I focused on respecting the original script with the client's requirements -- this was extremely important to maintain the original message.
